Our Results

In 2006, Momentum worked with over 2,992 people to start on a path towards prosperity.

Here are some of our key results:

• 771 new users searched for jobs on the Internet, learned basic computer skills and upgraded their technology skills through our computer programs.

• 38 immigrant and Aboriginal persons trained for a trades career in plumbing, welding and pipefitting.

• 1379 people learned money management skills; 160 of those through Momentum’s savings incentives programs.

• 317 individuals/families received Rent Bank loans, allowing them to secure and maintain stable housing.

• 10 people put a down payment on their first home as part of the Owen Hart Home Owners program.

• 134 participants learned how to start and operate their own small business by enrolling in one of our business training programs.

• 34 new loans were made to small businesses through Momentum’s loan funds.

• 19 new loans were made to immigrants to pursue accreditation and employment in their field of training.
