Technology Access

Program Descriptions and Information

By encouraging opportunities for the enhancement of computer literacy through our various programs and services, the Technology ultimately aims to reduce poverty in Calgary by creating a positive learning environment, allowing users to overcome those barriers to meaningful employment caused by technology.

Community Access Program

• Created to improve public access to the internet
• Targeted at individuals who have barriers to internet access (poverty, lack of education, no exposure)
• Publicly accessible locations with support when available
• 10 pages/day free printing
• Unlimited Free local faxing

Computer Literacy Program

• To provide introductory level skills for public users or existing clients
• Enable users to have the basic skills to pursue training elsewhere if desired
• Flexible, low-cost, short –duration
• Classroom, self-teaching or individual tutoring

C.L.I.C.K. - Computer Learning In Community networK

New program launched June 2005

• Designed to expand our Computer Literacy concept and the CAP program by  creating community learning sites in 4 additional low-income communities
• This program uses a web portal concept to assist community learners to find and use on-line learning resources to improve employability
